Amidst the tremendous uncertainty of our lives, we all need to find a way to meet fear, anxiety, difficulties, and crises. We need to find a way to understand them, transform them and overcome them with a deeper acceptance, insight and compassion. This is how we will discover the peace of mind, inner strength, stability and fulfillment that will give us the inner refuge we need so much, to face the challenges of the world today.

During this course, we will study the text Turning Suffering and Happiness into Enlightenment by the great Tibetan Buddhist master Dodrupchen Jikmé Tenpé Nyima. Both ‘happiness’ and ‘suffering’ depend entirely on how the mind perceives them; and the way we deal with them depends entirely upon our attitude. Working with our attitudes to life, lojong employs the power of reason to analyze our delusions, disturbing emotions and basic assumptions. With the help of this training, we can learn how to cope with sickness and other crises of life as they arise, transform the difficulties around us, and find a way to lasting peace and happiness.
